MS Dhoni, Former Indian Captain And CSK Star In IPL, To Contest Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024?

If rumors doing round the internet are to be believed then former Indian captain and Chennai Super Kings' star player MS Dhoni is all set for a new career inning. Speculations are going on that MS Dhoni may enter active politics and contest the Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 due by November 2024. The reports said MS Dhoni may join Lok Janashakti Party (RamVilas) headed by Chirag Paswan, a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partner.

Speculation about MS Dhoni entering politics and his chances to contest the Jharkhand Elections started after a photo of popular cricketer chilling with his friends went viral. Social media users noted a person, whose only half of his face was visible and he resembled a lot to Chirag Paswan.

However, it was not confirmed whether he was Chirag Paswan or not, however, speculations started that MS Dhoni may join LJP, and Ranchi boy is likely to be NDA's trump card for the upcoming state assembly elections.

Jharkhand is being ruled by INDIA Bloc partner and popular state party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), headed by Shibu Soren and his son and Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

On the other side, the BJP is trying its best to clinch power in Jharkhand with the help of its ally partners. A few days ago, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Champai Soren visited Delhi, where he reportedly met some top BJP leaders. There were reports that he may join the saffron front but later denied and announced his resignation from JMM and will float his own party for the Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024.

Champai Soren said that he felt insulted when removed from the Chief Minister's position for no reason.

Coming back to MS Dhoni, the cricketer last year stepped down from captain's position for IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), however, he played as a wicketkeeper batter and supported young captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. Later, it was speculated that Dhoni may announce his retirement from IPL and may not play in the 2025 edition.
