Why Was Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's Son Mojtaba Not Present At His Funeral? Where Is He?

As the lakhs gather to mourn at the funeral of Iran's Former supreme leader - Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran on Sunday as he was killed in the Israel - US Strikes on February 28, there has been noticed a major missing of his son.

Mojtaba Khamenei- the son and the successor of Ayatollah Khamenei was absent at his father's funeral and that has sparked fresh speculation about his condition and whereabouts, as Iranian officials have already confirmed that he will not take part in any of the six days of the funeral ceremonies.

Besides Sepreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had three other sons—Mustafa, Masoud, and Meysam—who attended the farewell ceremony.

Mojtaba Khamenei Missing From Funeral

The state media release images of Ayatollah Khamenei's three son's - Mostafa, Meysam and Masoud standing beside their father's coffin during the funeral prayers. However Mojtaba Khamenei was not present. Well it was not of much of a surprise as the Iranian officials had earlier stated that Mojtaba will be skipping the entire six day funeral procession.

No doubt that his absence raised questions about his health as he has not appeared since the US-Israel carried out joint strikes on Iran earlier this year. It was reported earlier that Mojtaba was seriously injured during the attacks and has been undergoing medical treatment.

Previously, US President Donald Trump stated that they are uncertain that Mojtaba is alive but later he said that he is alive in "some form"and expressed that he would want to meet him in the future.

Apart from Mojtaba , several world leaders marked attendance at Khamenei's funeral including delegates from India, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi, and more.

Sunday was declared a public holiday across Iran to allow people to participate in the funeral prayers. Large crowds gathered to pay their final respects to the late Supreme Leader.

Some mourners urged the Iranian leadership to take a firm stand instead of pursuing negotiations.

Trump Reacts to Funeral Crowds

Trum as always made a mocking statement that he was shocked seeing the massive crowed at Khamenei's funeral. He said, "I was shocked," Trump reportedly said. "I thought people hated him."
