Adani Defence to Set Up South Asia’s Largest Private Missile Ecosystem in MP’s Shivpuri; ₹2,500 Crore Investment to Create 5,000 Jobs
Adani Defence & Aerospace initiated India's private-sector missile ecosystem in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, valued at ₹ 2,500 crore. The project will integrate the full missile value chain, create about 5,000 jobs, and strengthen domestic production in collaboration with DRDO and the Indian Armed Forces.
Adani Defence & Aerospace on Sunday laid the foundation stone for what it described as South Asia's largest private-sector integrated missile manufacturing ecosystem in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. The ₹2,500 crore project is expected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities while strengthening India's indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Jeet Adani said the upcoming facility would be the first private-sector ecosystem in South Asia to bring together the complete missile manufacturing value chain—from raw materials to mission-ready missile systems—under one roof. Calling the project a landmark milestone, Adani said the facility would manufacture medium- and long-range missile systems while significantly reducing India's dependence on imported defence equipment. The project will also include composite propellant manufacturing, TNT production and explosive-grade material manufacturing, making it one of the country's most integrated missile production facilities.

The project is expected to be completed over the next three years and will also help develop a specialised defence supply chain by integrating more than 50 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Highlighting the group's growing presence in the state, Jeet Adani recalled that Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani had announced investments worth ₹1.10 lakh crore in Madhya Pradesh during the Global Investors Summit held in Bhopal last year. The investments span hydro pumped storage, cement, mining, smart meters and thermal energy, with a target of generating 1.2 lakh jobs by 2030.
He said the group has already invested over ₹4,000 crore in its Ametha and Kymor cement plants in Katni district. Adani Power currently supplies 1,200 MW of electricity to Madhya Pradesh, while an additional 5,600 MW of capacity is under development. The company has also commissioned wind energy projects across Lahori, Dhar, Ratlam and Ujjain, besides planning a new cement plant in Ujjain. Referring to the recently launched ₹1,060 crore cement project in Guna, Jeet Adani said it marked the largest industrial investment in the district's history.
Boost to India's Defence Self-Reliance
Emphasising the importance of indigenous defence manufacturing, Jeet Adani said the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He noted that Adani Defence is working closely with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Armed Forces to strengthen domestic defence production and reduce import dependence.
He highlighted that the company's defence manufacturing facility in Gwalior already produces its full range of Light Machine Guns (LMGs), assault rifles and carbines. According to him, the company has delivered 2,000 Light Machine Guns to the Indian Armed Forces 11 months ahead of schedule.
With the Shivpuri missile ecosystem complementing the Gwalior defence complex, Jeet Adani said the two facilities would emerge as twin centres of defence innovation in Madhya Pradesh, contributing significantly to India's strategic and manufacturing capabilities. The foundation stone ceremony was attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, state Energy Minister Pradyumna Singh Tomar, senior government officials and industry representatives.
