Bengal Horror: 11-Year-Old Raped and Killed in Baruipur, Protests Break Out; Mob Lynches Suspected Man

In one of the disturbing incident in Baruipur, South Parganas - where a minor of 11 year old was allegedly raped had led to massive protest after the body of the victim was found in a pond. It must be known that the girl went missing the day before and the death new triggered the locals.

What Happened to the Minor?

The police said that the child had left home on Saturday afternoon to buy a gift for her friend's birthday and did not return since. Her family started to look for her and later found her body in the pond the next morning.

In the Baruipur Suryapur area of West Bengal, an 11-year-old minor girl was gang-raped and murdered by a group of youths, who then dumped her body in a pond. The family alleged that the girl was raped and then dumped in the pond. The further stated that four people were involved in the crime.

Soon after the body of the minor was found, people started the protest and blocked the Baruipur-Joynagar Road. The protest turned violent as tyres were burnt and even the police vehicles were damaged.

Man Lynched By Locals

The protest took a different turn as a 26 year old man suspected by locals of being involved in crime was mob lynched. The police though have not confirmed his direct role in the crime but the lynch added another layer of disorder in the area. One of the police officer was injured during the clash.

Hence the police had to add extra force in the area to maintain peace, and said that the matter seriously and will take strict action against anyone found guilty.

Post-Mortem And Investigation

The girl's body has been sent for post-mortem at Baruipur Sub-Divisional Hospital. This will help investigators find the exact cause of death and determine whether sexual assault took place. A Special Investigation Team has also been formed to look into the case in detail.

CM Suvendu Adhikari Speaks With The Victim's Family

According to reports, the Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari did speak with the girl's father and assured the family that the guilty will not be spared. Police officials have also said that the investigation is still going on and more details will be shared after the inquiry is complete. Well this case turns out to be an important one as this is the first reported rape case after the BJP rule in West Bengal.
