IPL 2025: Not Rohit Sharma, KKR Approaches This Mumbai Indians Star For Captain's Role
Ahead of the much-anticipated edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), franchise bosses have already started making moves to strengthen their sides. Lately, media reports claimed that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has approached Mumbai Indians star batter Surya Kumar Yadav, who emerged as Rohit Sharma's successor for T20 captaincy.
Sports journalist Rohit Juglan quoted his sources in a video to state that KKR has offered captain's role to Surya Kumar Yadav.

The report also mentioned that KKR is willing to trade Shreyas Iyer, who led them to a title last year, in exchange for Suryakumar.
With an IPL 2025 mega auction scheduled before the next season, this trade could indeed materialise. However, there has been no official response from KKR regarding this speculation.
Meanwhile, both Suryakumar and Iyer are currently playing for Mumbai in the ongoing Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament. Deepak Patil, joint secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association, confirmed Iyer's participation in a statement on Tuesday.
"Shreyas Iyer will play for the Mumbai team at the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament organised by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. He will be playing the Mumbai v Jammu & Kashmir match to be played from August 27 at Coimbatore," Patil announced.
