Forensic experts and a dog squad collected evidence from Khan's residence and the surrounding 'Satguru Sharan' building. Multiple locations across Mumbai were searched in the hunt for the suspect.

The 54-year-old actor sustained six stab injuries, including one to the neck, during the attack, which occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday. He underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital and is now in stable condition, though he remains hospitalized.

CCTV footage from 2:33 am captured a clear image of the suspect, who was seen wearing a brown collared T-shirt and a red scarf. The video shows him descending the stairs from the sixth floor. The actor resides on the 12th floor of the building.

In addition to Khan, two others 56-year-old staff nurse, Eliyama Philip, who filed the complaint, and a domestic help-sustained injuries from the attacker.

At the time of the incident, Khan, his wife Kareena Kapoor, their two sons, Taimur (8) and Jeh (4), and five house helps were in the 12th-floor apartment. According to Philip, Jeh's nanny, she was the first to encounter the armed intruder, who demanded ₹1 crore.

The intruder reportedly gained access to the flat without forcing entry or breaking in, likely sneaking in during the night with the intention of robbery. Philip stated that the attacker, aged between 35-40 years, warned her, "Koi awaaz nahin" (don't make any noise).

Hearing Philip's screams, Khan and Kareena rushed out of their room. The intruder then attacked Khan with a knife.
