Mumbai Local Train Services Disrupted: Mega Blocks On Central, Western, And Harbour Lines This Sunday
If you're planning to travel by train on Sunday, August 25, it's important to be aware of the upcoming engineering works that will affect all three major railway lines in Mumbai.
The Central, Western, and Harbour Railways will each have a megablock in place, potentially leading to delays and cancellations. To avoid any inconvenience, passengers should check the revised train schedules before heading out.

Central Line
On the Central Railway, the mega block will take place on the Matunga-Mulund Up and Down Expressway between 11:05 AM and 3:05 PM. During this time, down express trains departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM will be diverted to the down slow line between Matunga and Mulund stations.
As a result, these trains are expected to experience delays of approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, trains heading towards Thane will be diverted to the down express line at Mulund station.
Western Line
Western Railway services will also be impacted, with a mega block scheduled on the Borivali-Goregaon Up-Down Slow Route from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During this period, all up-and-down slow route services between Borivali and Goregaon stations will operate on the up-and-down fast route. This shift in service will lead to the cancellation of some suburban trains.
Furthermore, a few Andheri and Borivali services will be short-terminated at Goregaon on the Harbour route. It is also important to note that platforms 1, 2, 3, and 4 at Borivali station will not be operational during the block period.
Harbour Line
On the Harbour Railway, the mega block will affect the Panvel-Vashi Up and Down Route. Up Harbour route services between Panvel and CSMT will be suspended from 10:33 AM to 3:49 PM, while Down Harbour route services between CSMT and Panvel/Belapur will be unavailable from 9:45 AM to 3:12 PM.
Special Local Trains
To assist passengers during these blocks, special local trains will be running on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai-Vashi section. Additionally, Trans Harbour Line services will remain operational between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations, and Port Line services will be available between Belapur/Nerul and Uran stations.
