Women’s Day Programme: Yogi Adityanath Announces Jobs For 5,000 Women Under Pink Rozgar Mahakumbh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted several welfare initiatives aimed at empowering girls and women during an International Women's Day programme held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on Saturday.

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed cheques to beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana and interacted with young girls and women present at the programme.

He emphasised that the government's goal is to ensure that daughters become self-reliant and capable of shaping their own future without depending on anyone.

Financial Support From Birth To Graduation

Speaking at the event, Yogi Adityanath explained that the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana provides financial assistance to girls from birth until they complete their graduation. The scheme offers support in different stages of education and development.

He said, "Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, daughters are provided financial assistance of ₹25,000 in different categories from birth until graduation."

The financial assistance provided under the scheme totals ₹25,000, which is distributed in different categories as the girl progresses through various stages of education.

Around 27 Lakh Girls Benefiting From The Scheme

The Chief Minister noted that a large number of girls in Uttar Pradesh are currently benefiting from the initiative. According to him, nearly 27 lakh girls across the state are receiving assistance under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana.

He said that such schemes are helping strengthen the educational foundation and future prospects of girls. The Chief Minister also pointed out that social attitudes towards daughters are gradually changing.

He added that earlier families often had concerns about raising daughters, but awareness campaigns and government welfare programmes are contributing to a more positive outlook.

CM Interacts With Young Girls At The Event

During the programme, Yogi Adityanath personally handed over cheques to several beneficiaries of the scheme. In a heart-warming moment, the Chief Minister also gave a teddy bear to a young girl present at the event.

While interacting with young women attending the programme, he encouraged them to continue their education and aim for success in life. Addressing one of the girls, he said, "Study well and become successful."

Pink Rozgar Mahakumbh And Other Announcements

The event also highlighted employment opportunities for women through the Pink Rozgar Mahakumbh 2026 initiative. The programme aims to provide employment opportunities to around 5,000 women.

Various companies and institutions participated in the job fair where eligible candidates were interviewed and offered job opportunities.

During the event, the mobile application of the Sangam portal was also launched. In addition, appointment letters were distributed to 94 newly appointed chief sevika workers.

Women who have performed exceptional work in the field of women's empowerment were honoured with the Nari Shakti Award. The government also announced financial assistance for Anganwadi workers, with ₹3,849 lakh to be transferred directly into their bank accounts through DBT for insurance premium and saree uniforms.

A large number of women, young participants and officials attended the programme organised to mark International Women's Day in Lucknow.
