Rajasthan Horror: 20 Women Gang-Raped On Pretext Of Jobs In Anganwadi

In a shocking and heart-wrenching incident, more than 20 women were allegedly gang-raped by the Sirohi Municipal Council chairperson in Rajasthan, Mahendra Mevada, and the former municipal council Commissioner, Mahendra Choudhary, according to the reports. The reports added that these women were allegedly raped after being lured for jobs in Anganwadi centers.

The horrific incident came to light after a victim approached the state police leveling serious allegations against the Municipal Council chairperson and former Commissioner.

A case has been lodged against both the accused.

The woman also told police that the accused had filmed the sexual assaults, continuously threatening and demanding Rs five lakh each else he would leak the videos on the internet.

The police report reads that the complainant, along with other victims, went to Sirohi months ago to seek jobs. There, they encountered the local leaders, who provided food and accommodation to them.

The police complaint underlines that the food had sedatives, and after consuming the food, the accused committed a horrendous crime.

When the victims regained consciousness, and confronted the accused, both the men admitted to deceiving them for their own purposes.

In another incident, a 24-year-old rape victim was allegedly killed after being raped by three people in Rajasthan's Kotputli-Behror district. According to the reports, the was attacked with a sharp-edged object when the rape victim was returning home with her brother on a two-wheeler. Later, the victim was transported to a nearby hospital and was later referred to a hospital in Jaipur as her condition was serious.

Police had arrested two accused, identified as Mahipal and Rahul Gurjar, while third accused, Rajendra Yadav, is still on the run. Taking cognizance of the case, a senior police official told the media that "pertaining to the girl's family applying for security, an ASI, Dileep, has been suspended, and the matter has been handed over for high-level inquiry."
