Rabat, March 8: She has scaled the highest peaks of all seven continents and this Women's Day, we give her a special salute. Fifty-year-old Bouchra Baibnanou, the first person from Morocco to achieve the feat, has inspired a generation of climbers and adventure sports enthusiasts through her extraordinary accomplishment.

According to a report in AFP, Baibnanou recently called Mount Vinson, the highest peak of Antarctica (16,050 feet) and completed a long journey over eight years during which set her foot in each of the world's continents to climb their peak.
"With will power and perseverance, you can get there. I am proud, as a Moroccan and as a woman," Baibanou was quoted as saying by AFP after she made it to the summit of Mount Vinson.
The veteran climber described the mountain as a "great school" and said 'courage, optimism, perseverance, determination and humility' are some of the attributes required to scale a mountain like Mount Vinson.
Baibnanou's work was not easy though. She climbed the peaks on a narrow budget that included contributions from her family as well as sponsorships.
The woman also delivers lectures at schools and universities in Morocco apart from doing mountaineering. She also eyes to set up mountain tourism in Morocco.
She had started mountaineering when she was 15 during a summer camp and although her parents were not too much interested for her to pursue the passion, she nevertheless continued it and after 35 years today, she is one of the most successful mountaineers on the planet.
