Tiger conservationists unravel frozen cubs in Thai temple
Bangkok, June 2: The wildlife authorities of Thailand found 40 dead Tiger cubs in a freezer on Wednesday at the controversial Tiger Temple here. The authorities bumped into this piece of evidence when they were investigating the allegations that the temple has illegal wildlife trade.
While in an effort to remove the adults from the temple, the conservationists found the cubs. The temple is being closed down after complaints that the temple wa sinvolved in illegal trafficking of cubs and Tiger body parts.

A Buddhist monastry, the temple takes paying tourists closer to the Tigers-letting them feed and bathe them at a price of $140. Wildlife conservationists, however, have been blaming the authorities of exploiting and abusing the animals, which was denied by them.
Tiger parts, while illegal to sell are widely used in China and are also in high demand in Asia. China uses Tiger parts for medicinal purposes and the frozen Tiger cubs are used for their flesh and their bones, which have medicinal values.
Temple official, Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua, meanwhile said that the Wildlife Conservationists had been notified of all the cubs' births and deaths and that the caracass was kept as a proof that none of them were sold to the black market.
The wildlife center has been trying to shut this temple down, which has promoted itself as a spiritual center where Tigers and human beings reside together. However, there were complaints that three adult Tigers had vanished and a temple staff had informed the conservationists about the frozen Tiger cubs in the freezer.
