New Delhi, Aug 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his government would continue to follow Atal Bihari Vajpayee's vision for peace while dealing with the Kashmir issue. He said that Vajpayee's vision of Insaniyat, jammhuriyat and Kashmiriyat would be followed in Kashmir.
He further said that the local body elections in Kashmir as demanded by the people will be held in the next few months while adding that he is committed towards peace in the trouble torn Valley.
He also said that in states such as Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, peace is being witnessed. "I am glad that AFSPA has been revoked in Tripura and Meghalaya, along with several districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Maoists shed blood and then run and hide in the forests. Left Wing Extremism used to affect 126 districts, but now it is limited to just 90," Modi further stated.
