UPPSC PCS 2024 results announced, with most selections from Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has announced the Provincial Civil Service 2024 results. Of 932 selected candidates, 864 are from Uttar Pradesh and 68 are from other states including Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, and Delhi. District data shows selections across 74 of 75 districts, led by Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Kanpur Nagar.

The Uttar Pradesh government said on Monday that the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had declared the Provincial Civil Service 2024 results. A total of 932 candidates were selected. Most selected candidates were from Uttar Pradesh. A smaller share came from other Indian states, including Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh.

According to the government, 864 selected candidates, or 92.7 per cent, were from Uttar Pradesh. The remaining 68 candidates, or 7.3 per cent, were from other states. State-wise figures showed 20 candidates, or 2.15 per cent, from Madhya Pradesh. Haryana had 18, or 1.93 per cent, Bihar had 12, or 1.29 per cent, and Delhi had nine, or 0.97 per cent.

PCS Examination 2024 category-wise results

The category split showed varied representation across groups. There were 357 selected candidates from the general category. Another 270 candidates were from Other Backward Castes OBC. The results also included 186 candidates from Scheduled Castes. Economically Weaker Sections accounted for 97 selections, while 22 candidates were from Scheduled Tribes.

The government also pointed to representation in higher ranks. It said eight candidates from the OBC category were in the Top 20. The statement described this as evidence of equal competitive space for backward classes. It also said the results reflected participation from different backgrounds across the selection list.

PCS Examination 2024 district-wise spread in Uttar Pradesh

The statement said district-level figures showed a wide spread across Uttar Pradesh. Selected candidates came from 74 of the state’s 75 districts. The government said this indicated opportunities were not limited to large cities. It added that candidates were emerging from many regions, including smaller districts.

Lucknow led with 8.24 per cent of selected candidates. Prayagraj followed with 5.34 per cent. Kanpur Nagar had 4.52 per cent, while Agra had 3.02 per cent. Ayodhya contributed 2.78 per cent. The government linked these shares to the presence of major education centres.

The statement also cited results from districts it described as smaller or less developed. It named Sambhal, Kannauj, Kasganj, Mahoba and Fatehgarh among those with selected candidates. The government said these outcomes showed the process was more inclusive. It added that opportunities were reaching districts across the state.

PCS Examination 2024 women in top ranks

Women’s performance was highlighted in the official statement. It said women formed 80 per cent of the Top Five candidates. The government said this showed women were not only taking part. It added that women were also securing leading positions in the final list.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated successful candidates in an X post in Hindi on Monday. "Heartiest congratulations to all the candidates who have successfully cleared the PCS Examination-2024, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. This success is the culmination of your tireless hard work, unwavering dedication, and steadfast discipline,\" Adityanath said.

Adityanath also linked the selections to future public service and governance goals. \"I am fully confident that, with your talent and integrity, you will lend fresh momentum to the creation of a New Uttar Pradesh and make public service the very foundation of your conduct,\" Adityanath said. The Chief Minister also praised the commission’s conduct of the exam.
