Union Minister Pulls Up Officers Over Poor Sanitation in Gurugram
Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh pulled up officers over poor sanitation in Gurugram and asked them to improve the citys cleanliness in 15 days.
Union Minister and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh expressed his displeasure over the poor sanitation conditions in Gurugram during a meeting with officials of the district administration and municipal corporation on Saturday. He urged sanitation workers to resume work, emphasizing that their absence is contributing to the decline in hygiene standards in the city.

Discussion of Key Issues
The meeting, held at the PWD guest house, saw Singh engaging in discussions on several important matters. These included the clearance of the Bandhwadi landfill, cleanliness measures in Gurugram, the ongoing strike by sanitation workers, and the handling of construction and demolition waste.
Emphasis on Gurugram's Global Image
Singh highlighted the significance of Gurugram's global image and stressed the moral responsibility of the administration to ensure better hygiene in the city. He urged officials to take strict legal action against those who hinder efforts to maintain a clean Gurugram.
Seeking Improvements Within 15 Days
The Union Minister sought a report from corporation officials on the sanitation measures implemented in Gurugram and set a deadline of 15 days for improving the city's cleanliness. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the Eco Green Company, which is responsible for garbage collection, and asked officials to investigate their work since the awarding of the contract.
Addressing the Sanitation Workers' Strike
Singh acknowledged the right of sanitation workers to express their views in a democratic system. However, he emphasized that the methods chosen to voice demands should not negatively impact the lives of ordinary citizens. He called upon the workers to resume work, urging them to find alternative means of addressing their concerns without disrupting essential services.
Focus on Construction and Demolition Waste
The meeting also addressed the issue of construction and demolition waste management. Corporation officials informed the minister that approximately seven lakh tonnes of such waste needs to be cleared from various locations in the city. The file seeking approval to enhance the waste lifting capacity of the current working agency has been forwarded to the Chief Minister's Office for consideration.
In conclusion, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh's meeting with Gurugram officials highlighted the urgent need to improve sanitation conditions in the city. He emphasized the importance of maintaining Gurugram's global image and directed officials to take strict measures against those responsible for hindering cleanliness efforts. The discussions covered various key issues, including the clearance of the Bandhwadi landfill, ongoing strike by sanitation workers, and management of construction and demolition waste. The minister set a deadline of 15 days for improving the city's cleanliness, seeking cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure a cleaner and healthier Gurugram.
