Chennai, May 19: A few minutes and the fate of Tamil Nadu would be sealed. Amid high security outside the counting booths, parties prayed for a magic that could take them for a winning spree. Both the major parties AIADMK and DMK did their best to prove their loyalty (sic freebies), but the people of Tamil Nadu who would keep the promise.
The Amma brigade heads towards a resounding victory for its freebie promise of free laptops to students, mobile phones for ration-card holders, and the expansion of the noon-meal scheme to include breakfast. The Karunanidhi team too is not left behind, promising smartphones for poor families and tablets or laptops with internet connections for students. But the people took Amma under their wings and Karunanidhi is left to regret.
