'Steel flyover beda' brigade to protest at Freedom park
Come Sunday and Bengaluru's freedom park is expected to be filled with hundreds of citizens opposing the controversial steel flyover project. Prominent Bengalureans have taken to social media to encourage more citizens to join the protest and send a clear message of 'Flyover beda' to the government.
"We have taken so much from #Bengaluru.Time to give back.Time to question why.Freedom park 9am on Sunday! #SteelFlyover #iWillBeThere", tweeted Harish Bijoor encouraging more Bengalureans to join in. Organisers have begun their social media movement and hope it reaches as many people as it did when the city came together to form a human chain when the details of the project were made public.

It has been 2 consecutive wins for those opposing the steel flyover project in Bengaluru and now they are determined to leave no stone unturned to get their message through. First it was the NGT that stalled the project from going ahead and then the BDA's submission to the High Court on Thursday that the project won't take off as of now. These developments have only come as boosters to what is being widely called as a strong citizen movement.
