Bengaluru Lok Sabha Election 2024 On April 26: What's Open And Closed?
Karnataka is gearing up for voting on Friday for 14 seats in Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha election 2024. As a result, several institutions, offices, and services in Bengaluru are set to be closed. Let's see what to expect tomorrow in the city.

What's Closed in Bengaluru:
- Schools, colleges, and similar educational institutions
- Non-essential government services
- Karnataka High Court Benches (April 26 and May 7)
- Banks
- Liquor sales (April 24, 5 pm - April 26, midnight)
Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC are also in effect in the city, starting from 6 pm on April 24 until midnight on April 26. The order prohibits gatherings exceeding five individuals, rallies, public meetings, possession of lethal weapons and explosives, display and burning of effigies, delivery of provocative speeches, and public chanting of political slogans.
What's Open in Bengaluru:
- Essential services like public transport (BMTC, BMRCL)
- Hospitals and healthcare facilities will operate as usual
- Commercial establishments (possibly with delayed commencement) for eligible employees to vote early on election day
