Lok Sabha Elections 2024: What Are The Expectations Of First-Time Voters?
The Lok Sabha elections 2024 have sparked a wave of enthusiasm and expectation among the first-time voters of India.
Rohith Vishwanath and R G Gunashree, both 1st-year BE students at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, shared their views on the qualities they believe an elected Member of Parliament (MP) should possess.

Vishwanath, who hails from Bengaluru Rural, emphasized that MPs should embody honesty, loyalty, diligence, and a genuine concern for the environment. Strong leadership qualities, intellectual prowess, and sensible decision-making are essential for addressing society's needs effectively. He expressed a strong desire for the eradication of corruption, stating that transparency, accountability, and ethical governance are crucial for India's political future.
In addition to corruption, Vishwanath highlighted key issues such as the water crisis, education reform, unemployment, and environmental protection. He stressed the importance of enacting strict laws and regulations to tackle these challenges effectively, paving the way for a more equitable and prosperous society.
Gunashree, whose constituency is Bengaluru South, identified the water crisis as the most urgent issue in the constituency, calling for immediate action to address the shortage of drinking water. Both Vishwanath and Gunashree strongly opposed bribery in elections, calling for transparent and democratic processes.
