Eshwarappa's Lone Journey: Expelled From BJP, Eyes For Lok Sabha Victory As Independent
Expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), KS Eshwarappa declared his candidacy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate, confident in his victory. Despite his expulsion, Eshwarappa expressed his intention to return to the BJP after winning, citing his five previous terms with the party.
Following his removal from the BJP for six years due to contesting independently in Karnataka, Eshwarappa criticised state BJP leaders BY Vijayendra and BS Yediyurappa. He accused them of denying his son a ticket to contest from Haveri.

The Karnataka BJP disciplinary committee cited Eshwarappa's independent candidacy in Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency as a breach of party discipline and a source of embarrassment. Consequently, he has been expelled from the party for six years.
Eshwarappa has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with Yediyurappa's leadership, alleging favoritism towards certain party members. Despite his criticisms, he maintains that his stance is not against the BJP or Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
