Punjab: NRI Shot At By Armed Assailants In Front Of Wife, Kids At His Amritsar Home | WATCH

An NRI named Sukhchain Singh was shot by two assailants at his home in Punjab's Amritsar district on Saturday morning.

The incident, captured on CCTV cameras inside the house, shows two men wearing turbans entering the US resident's home and firing three shots at him.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, reveals the attackers shooting Singh in the head and neck while his mother and son desperately pleaded for mercy. Singh is currently undergoing treatment, but his condition remains unclear.

The local police have assured the public that the culprits will be apprehended soon.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal condemned the incident, criticising the law and order situation in Punjab.

Sharing the video on social media, Badal expressed his dismay, stating, "The law and order situation in Punjab has completely deteriorated. I am very saddened to see the current state of Punjab."

He further lamented the incident, saying, "This morning, in Daburji, Sri Amritsar Sahib, miscreants openly fired shots after entering the house of our NRI brother Sukhchain Singh. The mother was pleading with folded hands to save her son, and the innocent child was doing the same to save his father, but the heartless criminals did not listen."

Badal also called for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's resignation "on moral grounds" and expressed his hope for Singh's recovery.
