In a historic decision CAPF to be conducted in 15 languages including Kannada
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to conduct the Constable (GD) CAPF exams in 13 regional languages.
Taking to Twitter, the Ministry of Home Affairs said, "in a historic decision, MHA decides to conduct the Constable (GD) CAPF exams in 13 regional languages also. It will give an impetus to participation of local youth in CAPFs. The decision reflects PM @narendramodi Ji's commitment to developing and encouraging regional languages."

This would mean that in addition to English, the Staff Selection Commission will now conduct the multi-tasking (non-technical) staff examination 2022 in 13 regional languages for the first time. The press note from the commission said that the exams will be held on Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Konkani, Manipuri (also Meiti), Marathi, Odia, and Punjabi are among the 13 regional languages listed.
The primary responsibility of the SSC is to fill all Group B (non-gazetted) and Group C (non-technical) positions within the various central ministries and departments. English and Hindu have been typically used as the exam languages by the commission.
Union Minister of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Jitendra Singh said that the action is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to apply for jobs and that no disenfranchised or placed at a disadvantage because of a language barrier.
Singh also said that the action will satisfy the long-standing requests of the candidates from many states, particularly from South India, for the exams that were previously held in English and Hindi.
Singh added," this s likely to benefit a very large number of candidates from all over the country."
Singh said that following this historic decision, attempts are being made to eventually incorporate all of the languages listed in the Constitution's Eighth Schedule.
He also said that during the inauguration of the "Kashi Tamil Sangamam" in Varanasi in November last year, the PM had said despite having one of the world's oldest living languages (Tamil), we lack in honouring it fully.
Singh said that the SSC works continuously to ensure that all segments of people have an equal opportunity to succeed in order to eliminate regional inequalities and realise the Constitution's principles while also recognising and valuing our national linguistic identity.
A press release by the Personal Ministry noted that the committee had among other things recommended that it would be appropriate to hold the exams for lower-level positions in a variety of languages.
