Kejriwal govt "autocratic": BJP on marshalling out of its MLA
New Delhi, May 27: BJP on Tuesday attacked the manner in which its MLA OP Sharma was marshalled out of Delhi assembly following his critical remarks against the Speaker and termed the AAP government "autocratic."
Condemning ruling party members for demanding powers to impeach the Lieutenant Governor with whom AAP is at loggerheads, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay accused the government of having no concern for democratic values.
"The way AAP legislators today demanded powers to impeach the Lieutenant Governor and turned out BJP Legislator Shri Om Prakash Sharma from the House, (it) has proved that today Delhi is witnessing an autocratic government with no concern for democratic values," Upadhyay said in a statement.

He said that the way the government and the Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel "connived" to marshal out Sharma "is an evidence of (their) constant ill-will towards BJP in the heart and mind of the Speaker and the government".
"It is really astonishing to see the intolerance towards opposition being shown by Shri Arvind Kejriwal government," Upadhyay added.
