Hyderabad: Influencer Throws Cash Into Air, Halts Traffic; Arrested

A Hyderabad influencer found himself in hot water with the police after a stunt where he was seen throwing cash in the air on a busy road.

The incident, which attracted widespread criticism on social media, also caught the attention of the authorities, leading to his detention.

The man, identified as Kurapati Vamshi, who goes by the Instagram name Harsha, was arrested after the video of his actions went viral. According to the Times of India, he was remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

The police have registered suo motu cases against Vamshi at the KPHB, Kukatpally, and Sanath Nagar police stations in Cyberabad.

"He has been charged with creating a nuisance on the road, rash and negligent acts, and obstruction of traffic movement," said Shiva Bhaskar, ACP of the Kukatpally division.

Instagram users reacted strongly to the viral video. One user commented, "Stop calling them influencers," while another added, "He could have just given the money to the lady with the baby.

That would have been more helpful." A third user questioned, "Has he lost his mind?" and a fourth warned, "It is so unsafe. He should be arrested. People can lose their lives. It's an open road with traffic."

This isn't the first time Vamshi has stirred controversy. In a previous video, he was seen distributing liquor on the streets, a stunt that also sparked outrage.

His Instagram page, which has nearly 3.8 lakh followers, is filled with videos that many deem "reckless."

In addition to these stunts, he shares short skits, having posted over 170 videos so far.
