Not Even An Inch Of Tank Plan Is Encroached: Nagarjuna On Demolition Of Convention Center
Actor Nagarjuna has responded to the demolition of his N Convention Center in Madhapur by The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA).
He said that he is pained by the unlawful manner of demolition despite the existing stay orders and court cases. Nagarjuna stated that he felt it necessary to issue a statement to clarify certain facts in order to protect his reputation and emphasize that no actions were taken in violation of the law. He mentioned that the land in question is Patta land, and not a single inch of the tank plan had been encroached upon. Regarding the building constructed on private land, Nagarjuna highlighted that there was a stay order against any previous illegal notice for demolition.

His statement read: "I thought it fit to issue this statement to place on record certain facts for protecting my reputation and to indicate that we have not done any actions in violation of law. The land is Patta land, and not even an inch of tank plan is encroached. In respect of the building constructed inside the private land, there is a stay order granted against any earlier illegal notice for demolition."
He asserted that the demolition carried out that day was wrongful and based on misinformation. He also pointed out that no notice had been issued prior to the demolition that morning. As a law-abiding citizen, Nagarjuna noted that if the court, where the matter is pending, had ruled against him, he would have undertaken the demolition himself.
He added, "No notice was issued prior to carrying out the demolition this morning. As a law-abiding citizen, if the Court before which the matter is pending, had decided against me, I would have carried out the demolition myself. I am placing this on record for the purpose of correcting any public misimpression about wrongful constructions or encroachment by us.
Nagarjuna added that he was making this statement to correct any public misconceptions about wrongful constructions or encroachment on their part. He also mentioned that they would be seeking appropriate relief from the court regarding the authorities' wrongful actions.
The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) authorities started the process of demolishing the N Convention Center in Madhapur, owned by actor Nagarjuna, on Saturday. This action follows complaints that the construction of the center involved illegal encroachment upon Tammidi Cheruvu, a nearby water body.
The officials launched the demolition following allegations of encroachment on approximately three and a half acres of land originally part of the lake.
The N Convention Center was reportedly built in the buffer area of Thammidi Kunta Lake at Khanamet. According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, the center encroached on 1.12 acres within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area of Thammidi Kunta and an additional 2 acres within the lake's buffer zone. This encroachment was in violation of several land use and environmental regulations.
