'Heirarchy' K-Drama Released Date Announced, Lee Chae-min As Lead, Other Details

The Netflix K-Content Channel just recently posted the trailer for 'Hierarchy' on their YouTube channel, with the release date of the series announced to be on 7 June, 2024.

The series plans to cast actors Roh Jeong-eui, Kim Jae-won, Lee Chae-min, Chi Hae-won, and Lee Won-jeong.

Hierarchy K-Drama Release On Netflix

The plot of the series, as revealed by the trailer and a Netflix press release, revolves the top 0.01% ranking high school students who 'run the law' at Jooshin High school. The two students at the top are the couple Jung Jae-i, played by Roh Jeong-eui, and Kim Ri-an, played by Kim Jae-won. Their unchallenged tyranny over the school becomes shaky as a new scholarship student Kang Ha, played by Lee Chae-min, decides to make it his mission to expose the secrets and scandals of the school.

These mysteries are not the simple, high school drama-esque mysteries, however, as the trailer for the series literally starts with the phrase, "I killed someone" whispered by an unnamed person as we see someone pulling the trigger of a gun. The main poster for the series also has the quote on the top, 'Everyone Has A Secret Worth Dying For'.

The series is going to be directed by Bae Hyeon-jin, not to be confused with the People Power Party politician of the same name. Hyeon-Jin has worked on other K-Drama series like 'Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow', 'Big Mouth', and 'Start-Up'. In an article by Netflix on the new series 'Hierarchy', the director said, "Jooshin High School takes pride in its established order, which has never been challenged. We meticulously worked on the details of each space, like the designs, textures, and lighting. We also used structural elements to serve as metaphors about the characters' circumstances, from the old building, which embodies the school's pride and traditions, to the staircases, which represent the hierarchy at Jooshin."

People who appreciate K-Dramas and visual storytelling will have a good time watching this show, streaming from 7 June onwards on Netflix.
