Many celebrities, including Nani and Sudheer Babu, have criticised Arshad for his remarks. Director Nag Ashwin of 'Kalki 2898 AD' also responded, suggesting Arshad could have chosen his words more carefully. The backlash has led Arshad to disable comments on his social media posts.

In the podcast, Arshad expressed disappointment with Prabhas' portrayal in the film. He said, "Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max.
