FIR Against Rakshit Shetty: What Is The Issue All About?
Actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty is facing a fresh legal trouble as an FIR has been filed against him and his production company Paramvah Studio over a copyright violation.
He has been accused of using songs without proper copyright permissions in his movie 'Bachelor Party,' which was premiered on Amazon Prime in March 2024.

The complaint alleges that 'Bachelor Party' unlawfully included the songs 'Omme Ninnannu' and 'Nyaya Ellide' from other films. However, Shetty is yet to respond to the allegations.
The complaint specifies that the movie used these songs without acquiring the necessary copyrights, which are reportedly owned by Naveen Kumar. An earlier attempt to solve through talks failed to yield positive outcome. Hence, Kumar, a partner at MRT Music, has filed a complaint.
It may be recalled that a similar complaint was filed against the actor ahead of 'Kirik Party' by Lahari Music, accusing the makers of plagiarising a tune originally attributed to composer Hamsalekha.
However, the legal dispute between Kannada actor-director Rakshit Shetty and Lahari Velu, director of Lahari Music, was finally resolved thanks to the intervention of 'KGF' producer Vijay Kirgandur.
Velu had alleged that the song 'Hey who are you' in question had borrowed interludes from 'Madhya rathrili,' a track from V Ravichandran's 1991 film 'Shanthi Kranthi,' whose rights Lahari Music owned. Subsequently, Lahari Music filed a copyright violation complaint against Paramvah Studios and the film's music director, Ajaneesh Lokanath.
