Police horse Shaktimaan's statue erected, later removed
Dehradun, July 12: After facing blacklash for giving more importance to a horse than the cops who lost their lives, the Uttarakhand government removed the statue of Shaktimaan that was installed at the police lines.
Shaktimaan was a police horse who made headlines after he was allegedly beaten up by BJP Legislator Ganesh Joshi during a rally earlier this year.

A video showing Joshi landing blows after blows went viral and the whole incident sparked outrage across the country. Shaktimaan, who was severely injured following the incident had to undergo amputation of his hind leg.
However it was later announced that a park would be constructed in rememberance of him. A statue was installed on Saturday, July 9 at a major intersection in Dehradun. However the statue was later removed amid rising criticism.
A second statue was to be installed at the police headquarters but it's future remains uncertain now.
Shaktimaan died of the injuries sustained during the incident.
