Bangalore: Fire safety drill turns deadly, kills woman

Bangalore, Feb 24: A 25-year-old woman died on Friday, Feb 24 when she fell to the ground from a three-storey building during fire&safety mock drill in Peenya district, Bangalore. The drill was organised by the fire department.

The accident happened when the rope snapped while she was trying to come down, the victim slipped and fell down. She died on the spot. In a major safety lapse, the safety net was not available on the spot.

Eyewitnesses claimed that a man was holding her hand, helping her to come down, but her hand slipped and she fell.

Meanwhile, the fire department and the management of Bombay Rayon Fashion were not available on the spot for comment.
