Survey in Jaisalmer villages on flood like situation

Jaisalmer, Aug 17 (PTI) District authority has asked officers to carry out survey in areas facing flood-like situation following heavy rainfall in the region for the past few days.

District Collector M P Swamy has asked officials to carry out survey in areas facing flood-like situation in the district, an official said here.

Land officers (Patwaris) have been asked to prepare survey report and submit to the collector, he said.

In Fatehgarh sub-division of the district, few villages including Chelak, Deoda, Tejmalta, Jhinjhiniyali, Baiya and Tejrawa are waterlogged following heavy rainfall during the past few days.

Food packets were distributed in such areas and families of some localities were shifted to safe places following the flood threat, an official said.

Situation in many of these areas is now under control as the weather is clear and water pumps have been installed to flow out the water, he said.

Jaisalmer and Barmer districts have recorded excess rainfall this year.
