Dalits protest on anti-Ambedkar page on FB

Mumbai, Feb 15: A riot-like situation unfolded in the Khar area of Mumbai when thousands of Dalits gathered to protest against an anti-Ambedkar page that has been hosted on the popular social networking website, Facebook.

The mob turned violent and resorted to burning tyres and damaging cars. The Police and the Rapid Action Force personnel took charge of the situation before it got out of hand. Traffic in the area came to a standstill as police cordoned off the area in order to avoid any untoward incidents.

No arrests have been made so far, however, the protestors assembled near the Khar Police Station demanding that the Facebook page be closed down and individuals who are responsible for creating it be sent behind bars.
