Police arrest four for alleged honour-killing in Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 8 (PTI) In what appears to be a case ofhonour killing, the city police today arrested four people forallegedly killing a 30-year old woman because they did notapprove of her plan to remarry.

The victim, Shabana Khan, was found strangulated withrope at her residence on February 6.

The police said that Khan separated from her husband sometime back and was staying with her daughter and son.

However, when she decided to marry another man, herfamily members, including her cousins Maqsood Baig andMohammed Amir, did not approve of it.

Police said that Amir, Baig, alongwith two other men,Mohammad Moid and one Akhtar went to Khan''s residence andstrangulated her at around 11.45 pm when she and her childrenwere asleep.
