Rs 10 crore Tanishq jewellery robbed; 8 held

New Delhi, Jan 16: Eight out of the twelve-member gang, who robbed jewellery worth of Rs 10 crore from a Tanishq showroom in Chandigarh, have been detained by the Delhi police.

"It was a joint effort of the Chandigarh Police and Delhi Police. A significant portion of the stolen jewellery has been recovered from them. The hunt is on to nab the remaining accused," police stated on Sunday, Jan 16, 2011.

Around ten to 12 armed robbers had barged into Tanishq showroom on Jan 12 in Manimajra in Chandigarh early morning and decamped with the entire jewellery after overpowering the shop's three security guards.
