Films like ''Peepli Live'' induce farmers to commit suicide: BKS

Bhopal, Jan 14 (PTI) The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS)today said films like ''Peepli Live'' were responsible to someextent for suicides by farmers.

"The manner in which suicide was glorified in ''PeepliLive'' induced farmers to take the extreme step," MadhyaPradesh BKS unit president Shiv Kumar Sharma told reportershere.

Though no farmer was shown committing suicide in ''PeepliLive'', some scenes in the film had a wrong impression on theyoung minds, he said.

Demanding a ban on such films, Sharma said he has writtena letter to the film''s producer Aamir Khan asking him not tomake movies that ridicule farmers.
