Northern Irish families flushing toilets with lemonade!

London, Jan 1 (ANI): Left without water for almost two weeks, families in Northern Ireland have now resorted to flushing their toilets with lemonade.

With shops stripped of bottled water almost as soon as it arrives, people are turning to the next best thing to fill their toilet cisterns - lemonade, reports the Daily Express.

Engineers are working round-the-clock to repair the damage in many parts of the United Kingdom after melting ice left burst pipes. In Northern Ireland, 4,400 people were still without running water.

About 3,000 properties in Thirsk, Yorkshire, were left without water on Friday after a pipe supplying a pumping station burst.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland Water said it could be next week before everyone is re-connected. (ANI)
