Srinagar, Jul 19: Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is planning for cabinet reshuffle in order to strengthen the party.

According to the sources, Omar is also planning to drop some of the tainted ministers from the cabinet, as he is assured full support by the central government.

Party sources also indicated that the National Conference general secretary Sheikh Nazir, is also likely to give up his post due to old age and ill health.

Abdullah has already discussed the Kashmir issue with Sonia Gandhi and Home Minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi.

"Omar also discussed moves to strengthen his government with the central leaders who have assured him complete support to tide over the present crisis in Kashmir," the sources added.

The ruling National Conference working committee is meeting on Jul 22 to discuss measures to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Abdullah has come under a sharp criticism from opposition parties for failing to manage crisis since Jun 11 in which 14 civilians were killed in police firing in the Valley.
