Lahore, Feb.25 (ANI): The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has termed the tribal areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as the 'main threat of global terrorism'.
FBI chief Robert Mueller, said the tribal areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan are breeding grounds of terrorism.
He told Voice of America (VOI), that he had fears about a home grown terror threat.
"We must also focus on less well-known terrorist groups, as well as homegrown terrorists. And we must consider extremists from visa-waiver countries, who are merely an e-ticket away from the US," The Daily Times quoted Mueller, as saying.
He disclosed that militants are being trained on the US soil which is a matter of grave concern for the authorities.
"A man from Minneapolis became what we believe to be the first US citizen to carry out a terrorist suicide bombing," Mueller said.
Mueller also claimed the several people from other communities in the US had been recruited to fight against the allied forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Yemen.
To counter the increasing discontentment among the Muslims residing in the United States, the FBI is carrying out regular programs to increase contact, and understand the Muslim sentiments, Mueller informed. (ANI)
