Vice-President cancels Nagaland visit
Kohima, Nov 29: The Vice-President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari has cancelled his visit to Nagaland on account of the death of former Prime Minister V P Singh and countrywide mourning.
Nagaland Additional Chief Secretary Lalthara, in a statement said the Vice-President has cancelled the visit and accordingly entire programme including the inauguration of the Hornbill Festival will be performed by Governor K Sankaranarayanan.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be the Guest of Honour in the inaugural function of the festival.
Official sources informed that the proposed Korea-India music festival scheduled for December 2, has also been cancelled following the terrorist attack in Mumbai.
