Antony leaves question on party expansion to UDF

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 26 (UNI) Defence Minister and senior Congress leader A K Antony today said it was for the United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala to take a decision on the question of its expansion.

Talking to newspersons here after a meeting with senior Congress leader K Karunakaran at his residence, Mr Antony said it was for the UDF to take a decision on admitting the National Congress Party (NCP) into the front.

The state unit of the NCP is headed by Mr K Muraleedharan, son of Mr K Karunakaran.

To a question, he said it was during his tenure as the Chief Minister that he had worked a lot for getting an High Court bench in the capital city.

On the Keltron issue, he said the Centre would give all helps to the state for the revival of the public sector unit.
