Third Front will emerge as strong force: Deve Gowda
New Delhi, Oct 19: H D Deve Gowda the former Prime Minister and JD-S chief on Sunday, Oct 19 expressed confidence that the Third Front would emerge as a strong force after the Lok Sabha elections, and more parties would join hands with it on the issue of creating communal amity in the country.
Deve Gowda said that the Third Front is yet to take a final shape but it is 100 per cent happening. "Under the current scenario with incidents of communal violence increasing, we will play a major role in creating a secular atmosphere in the country," he added. Gowda, who has been raising his voice against attacks on Christians, the serial bomb blasts and the Jamia Nagar encounter, said "The common concern of all our constituents on these incidents will make us a force to reckon with."
The JD(S) president in the recent past has been seen sharing space with BSP and Left leaders while showing solidarity with Muslim and Christian communities. "Before the polls also, we will consolidate and prepare a definite plan to chalk out our election strategy," Gowda said.
