Parties wrong about People's Republic in Nepal: Dr. Bhattarai

Kathmandu, Oct 17 : Nepal Finance Minister and Senior Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai today said that the discussions regarding the People's Republic within his party has been described wrongly by the other parties.

Talking to mediapersons upon his arrival here after attending the joint board of governors meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) in Washington, Bhattarai said, "We have said People's Republic, but here it has been described incorrectly."

He also said that his US visit remained fruitful. He said that he urged the international community to extend financial assistance.

"The international community was positive about the government's annual policies and programmes," he added, Kantipur reported.
