Governor Jamir greets people on 'Vijayadashami'

Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir has greeted the people of the state and all the Maharashtrians living abroad on the occasion of 'Vijayadashami' also celebrated as 'Dassera'.

In his message, Mr Jamir has said ''Dassera is one of the important festivals of India that celebrates the victory of goodness over evil forces. Today vested interests are trying to create disharmony in society on the basis of caste, creed and religion.'' ''It is the duty of all right thinking people to isolate such elements and create good will among all sections of society. May the festival inspire all of us to strive for building a strong India. I convey my heartiest greetings and good wishes to the people on the joyous occasion of Dassera,'' an official release said here today.
