Ms Krishnammal calls on Karunanidhi

Chennai, Oct 5 (UNI) Ms Krishnammal, who was conferred with the alternate Nobel Prize ''Right Livelihood Award,'' by the Swedish government, today called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at his residence.

During the meeting, Ms Krishnammal thanked the Chief Minister for greeting her and her husband Sankaralingam Jagannathan for winning the Swedish honour.

Mr Karunanidhi presented a shawl to Ms Krishnammal and congratulated her.

Mr Karunanidhi's wife Dayalu Ammal, Lofty Administrative Manager K Vengopu, Assistant Secretary C Veerachamy and others attended the meeting, an official release said here.

The Krishnammal-Sankaralingam Jagannathan couple, hailing from Nagapattinam district, were conferred the ''Right Livelihood Award,'' by the Swedish government recently.
