Congress' political card be fooling Jammu: BJP

Jammu, Sep 28: Jammu BJP vice-president Prof Hari Om charged that even though the Congress was contesting the forthcoming Assembly polls on the basis of secularism, it was squarely responsible for pitting the people of one region against the other over the Shri Amarnath land transfer issue.

''The Congress is declaring its participation in elections on secularism basis but how could they deliver such statements when their party is squarely responsible for pitting the people of one region against the other over the Shri Amarnath land transfer issue; putting the entire state on fire,'' the BJP leader alleged in a press statement issued here.

Prof Hari Om added that being close to the pro-Pakistan and militant-friendly People's Democratic Party (PDP), Congress has forfeited all rights to talk in terms of secularism, peace and integrity of the country, including the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

''The reiteration by the Congress leaders that party will constitute a delimitation commission and end discrimination with Jammu is nothing but yet another attempt on their part to hoodwink the people of Jammu,'' added Prof Hari Om.
