Governor orders inquiry into selection in ICDS in Kupwara

Srinagar, Sep 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra has ordered an inquiry into the appointments made under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) in the frontier district of Kupwara.

Taking cognisance of the public complaints on the selection process adopted for various appointments under the ICDS in the border district of Kupwara, the Governor directed to put the selection list on hold till a thorough inquiry is conducted by the District Development Commissioner (DDC).

The Governor also directed the DDC and other district officers to undertake regular touring of the areas under their jurisdiction and gear up the field agencies to mitigate problems faced by the people.

An extra effort was required to be taken to expedite work on various schemes in view of the limited working season.
