AIMS to hold 20th Annual convention from August 27

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) will hold its 20th Annual Convention with ''Nurturing Thought Leadership through Management Education'' as the theme at Welingkar Institute of Management here from August 27-29.

Elaborating on the theme at the announcement function held yesterday Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, President, AIMS and Director, Welingkar Institute of Management, said, ''Challenging times are here and in such times, it becomes vital to create a ''People Force'' that can deal with complex situations and crisis. There is a need to create human resource capability of individuals, who can act as leaders and derive meaning and solutions to state of affairs that are impacting communities and corporations the world over.'' Speakers at the convention will include business and public leaders, who will speak on related themes like ''India - The Knowledge Capital'', ''Leadership development at the grass root level'' and ''The Innovation Imperative - Expectations from business Schools''.

ICICI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer K V Kamath will be the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony.
