ICG rescues five Indian fishermen

Ramanathapuram, Aug 17 (UNI) The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel rescued five Indian fishermen, who were stranded at mid sea after their mechanised fishing boat developed technical snag near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), today.

ICG sources said during the routine patrol, an ICG war ship 'Avvaiyar' spotted the mechanised fishing boat stranded at mid sea due to mechanical problem. They towed the boat with the war ship and brought it to the shore.

All the five crew (fishermen) of the boat hail from Rameswaram town, the sources added.
