One shot dead by BSNL security guard in Mysore

Mysore, Aug 14: One person was killed in a firing by a gunman of BSNL yard at Belavadi Industrial area on the outskirts of the city on Thursday, Aug 14.

According to police, the incident occurred when four people, attempting to steal costly materials of BSNL stored in the yard, entered from the bankside and attacked the security guard Nanjundaswamy, who shouted for help.

A security personnel, who was guarding the other side rushed to the spot. On seeing him, three of them escaped while one person was shot dead by the gunman.

The injured security guard was undergoing treatment. Police seized leathal weapons from the spot.

City Police Commissioner Parashivamurthy visited the place.

Finger print experts and dog squad were pressed into service.

The body of the unidentified person was sent to K R Hospital here for post-mortem, police said.
