Srinagar, Aug 13 (UNI) Urging people not to observe any hartal on Saturday, the Hurriyat Conference (HC) today appealed people to join the prayer meeting being organised at Pampore for Peoples League chairman Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who was among those killed in the police firing in Baramulla, during Muzaffarabad march on August 11.
A spokesman of the HC, Aiyaz Akbar told UNI that it was decided that there would be no hartal on August 16.
However, he said, people are requested to reach Khankah-e-moula Pampore where a prayer and condolence meeting will be held for the departed soul.
He said chairmen of both the factions, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq, besides other senior leaders will join the prayer meeting.
Meanwhile, he said, senior HC leader Shabir Ahmad Shah and Peer Saifullah, who were reported missing, reached here safely.
They are eyewitness to the firing incident in which Sheikh and others were killed, he said.
