Water level in KRS inches towards brim
Mysore, Aug 9 (UNI) Despite the decrease in rainfall at the Cauvery catchment areas, the water level in the Krishnaraja Sagar across the river near here is inching towards the maximum level.
According to the Public Works Department (PWD) the water level today stood at 117.18 ft against the maximum level of 124.80 ft with inflow of 8873 cusecs and outflow of 3645 cusecs.
In Kabini reservoir, the first reservoir in the state to fill up, the water level stood at 2281.76 ft against the maximum level of 2284 ft. The level has been maintained two feet below the maximum level to safeguard the dam. The inflow and outflow were 5449 and 1000 cusecs respectively.
The Harangi, another Cauvery Basin Reservoir in Kodagu district reached its full capacity last week and stood at 2858.09 ft against its full capacity of 2859 ft. The inflow was 4713 cusecs and the outflow 5085 cusecs.
